Children with CP and their families are invited to a FREE Family Fun Day at The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, Laois with Cerebral Palsy Foundation. This event aims to bring CP families together to network, share experiences, and enjoy a fun, relaxed environment. There will be activities for the kids, refreshments and food, guest speakers - including Paralympians and experts in inclusive sports . Resources for families such as adaptive bikes and trikes, sports groups and much more. Come and join in a fun family afternoon to socialise and learn about further resources available for our community.

Calling all parents and guardians of children with cerebral palsy in Ireland!

Researchers from Trinity College Dublin are conducting a national survey to better understand the lives of children with cerebral palsy - their characteristics, participation in daily life activities, and personal priorities.

Who can participate?
Parents or guardians of children with cerebral palsy living in the Republic of Ireland.

Why take part?
Your insights will help shape a clearer understanding of life with CP and inform future research and support services. The survey is anonymous and completed online.

Registration is open for the 38th Annual Congress of the European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability (EACD 2026), taking place at University of Galway, Ireland, from 3 – 6 June 2026.

The old Irish wisdom ‘Mol an Óige agus Tiocfaidh Siad’ – Encourage the young and they will flourish – is the theme of EACD 2026.

This year’s congress embraces a strengths-based approach to childhood-onset disability, rooted in respect, empowerment, and opportunity.

The congress tracks will align with the internationally recognised “F-words for Child Development” – Functioning, Family, Fitness, Fun, Friends and Future - offering a holistic lens through which to support children and young people with disabilities, and their families.

The scientific committee invites you to submit abstracts for an oral communication, poster, technology & innovation pitch and/or instructional course. Abstract notifications will be sent the week commencing 19 January 2026.

We are also grateful to the services and charities that supported recruitment and made this research possible.

As we approach the end of October, which marks World Mental Health Month, we would like to acknowledge the work of our Charity Partners, who all offer services that make a difference to people's lives.
CRC Central Remedial Clinic, Rehab Group, HUGG, and A Lust For Life, are a diverse group of Irish charities but all share a common goal - to prioritise the wellbeing of people who need support, right across Ireland.
