Just to give you a bit more about my background. I am a Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT). Athletic Therapy is a relatively new discipline in Ireland, however in the US, all sports teams work directly with Athletic Therapists. We do not however only work with sports teams and have a wide variety of clients across all age groups and backgrounds with musculoskeletal injuries. These could be anything
from grow plate issues in young people to back & neck pain, muscle strains, rehabilitation post fracture etc.
I have a degree in Athletic Therapy and graduated with first class honours (BSc). This degree included clinical practice in Ireland and also gave me the opportunity to spend time in Boston Children’s Hospital in the Sports Medical Division.
I am currently a member of ARTI (Athletic Rehabilitation Therapy Ireland). I also provide emergency care at games and hold an up to date EFR (emergency first responder) and CFR advanced (cardiac first responder advanced) certifications.
I have worked with a number of sports teams GAA, rugby, soccer, gymnasts, equestrians and water polo players. I also work in a clinic setting with all age ranges with a wide range of conditions. I am also fully professionally insured.
