Equestrian Tai Chi & Tao Riding

Equestrian Tai Chi & Tao Riding Online Equestrian Tai Chi Training for Equestrians, Riding Instructors and Therapeutic Riding Instruc She has been teaching since 2002. Jenny Pim was born in Co.

Jenny Pim is a Certified Tai Chi Instructor, registered with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. She's a Certified Riding Coach, registered with Horse Sport Ireland. She's been involved with horses all her life, owning and breeding many wonderful Connemara ponies. She started practicing Tai Chi on her own ponies and noticed how much they enjoyed it and how it seemed to calm some of the more nervous ponies. They showed many of the typical signs that they were happy and content, such as softening their eyes, lowering their heads and resting a hind leg. Jenny also noticed how it helped her feel more settled and more connected to everything, particularly Nature. She bonded more with the ponies and they seemed calmer and happier in their daily lives. The ponies seemed to enjoy connecting on an energetic level. Realising the benefits of practicing Equestrian Tai Chi (as she called it), to both herself and her ponies, and to her connection with them, she developed a programme for teaching people Equestrian Tai Chi, who had no previous knowledge of Tai Chi. Wexford, Ireland. She attended Newtown School in Waterford, a boarding school run by The Society of Friends, before going on to study Irish language and Greek and Roman Classical Civilization in Trinity College Dublin. She then went on to study Archival Science in University College Dublin. She worked on the private papers of Lord Killanin, President of The International Olympic Committee, before moving to London, where she worked for a short while in the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. She then went to work for Christie's the Art Auctioneers in King Street, London. It was while she was at Christie's in the middle of the Art boom in the late eighties and early nineties, that she became interested in the Far East and its culture. This led to her learning Tai Chi and later becoming an instructor.

Fire Horse Energy Animates our Ability to Advocate for Others, and for ourselves when we need to, through jumping from idea to idea like a fire burning, until we land on the right thing that unlocks the key to setting us free.

This right thing, can be a guide to illuminate the way for us, as old things that were wrong fall away and new truths are begun.

5 years ago today, January 14th, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Scally (Excalibur), it was one of the saddest times of my life, but it did become good as I came to realise that we don't really go, our spirit never dies though our form does.

Last week I was lucky enough to meet Basil. Basil has been wonderfully brought on by Paudie Quinn of PQ Sport Horses, who found him in the Connemara pony sales in Clifden in the summer.

When I saw videos and photos of Basil I knew I just had to go and see him, as I'd been looking for a pony like him for a while., remarkably I had actually bred his mother, the beautiful Dun an Oir Rosalind, which I only discovered after I had decided to go and see him.

Basil was bred by Mrs Joan Dolan who bought Dun an Oir Rosalind from me.

Basil is here with us now and he fits in so well with all the other ponies and he's bringing joy to us all. Fingers crossed all will work out well and be ok, life has it's ups and downs and you never can tell, add horses in to the mix and you really can't.

Basil is wearing a twenty year old Horseware rug that I got for his new best friend Tommy, twenty years ago, it had been washed and mended many times by Beryl Power of The Rug Hub. It is a little big for him, so he has new one now to be fair.

I saw some beautiful ponies that I was sure were right for me, but as things worked out, something would happen to make them not right for me. I was helped as well by Philip MacManus and am grateful for all the lovely ponies and the lovely people I met.

A Happy New Year to you all and although it's not quite here yet, I think Basil's red rug is appropriate for the Year of the Fire Horse!

The Online Horse Fair 2025 is on this weekend, December 6-7, and it’s completely free to attend.

My video on Sunday is about 'Us and Our Horse Finding Safety Together'.

In this video I explain how horses are highly sensitive to human energy, thoughts, and emotions, and demonstrate how Equestrian Tai Chi creates a unified energy field between rider and horse and serves as a harmonizing force between us.

I discuss the difference between operating from ego versus essence, and explain that horses feel safest when humans are in their essence rather than their conditioned ego state. The practice helps both horse and rider move through energy blockages created by past experiences and return to their true nature. Through movements that balance yang and yin energies, practitioners create deeper partnerships with their horses based on authentic connection rather than control.
