Black Friday tempts us with promises of huge savings. We are all already thinking about gifts for our loved ones, and the temptation to snag a bargain is huge! 🎁
We know how hard you work for your money. That’s why we’ve put together a few universal rules that apply no matter which country you are currently in. Let’s shop wisely and safely! 💡

What to watch out for when shopping online and in-store?
📉 Fake Promotions
This is a trick known all over the world. Stores often raise prices in October just to "lower" them spectacularly on Black Friday. Instead of staring at the big "-50%" sign, check the price of the same product in other online stores (price comparison sites are your best friends!).

🔒 Payment Security
In the shopping rush, it’s easy to stumble upon a fake store. Always check if the website address starts with "https" (look for the padlock symbol). If you are shopping on foreign websites, it is safest to use a credit card or PayPal – in case of fraud, it is easier to get your money back than with a standard bank transfer.

📅 Delivery Time vs. Christmas
Many "super offers" have a catch: very long waiting times. If you are buying Christmas gifts, check the estimated delivery date carefully. A cheap product that arrives in January won't bring as much joy.

Enjoy the promotions and deals safely and sensibly!

Christmas is coming…🎄 so it’s the perfect time to experience the magic of Irish Christmas markets! Check out which ones are worth visiting and what you should try!

Where to find the holiday magic?
📍Galway Christmas Market
A classic! The longest-running market located at Eyre Square.
📍Winterval (Waterford)
Ireland's largest Christmas Festival, packed with attractions.
📍Belfast Christmas Market
An impressive, international market set against the backdrop of the City Hall.
📍Dublin
Although the traditional Christmas Market at Dublin Castle won't be held this year, it's worth visiting the Dublin Winter Lights – a spectacular festival of lights that illuminates over 20 locations across the city every year.

When visiting Irish markets, make sure to experience:
🌟 Authentic Irish Craftsmanship – the stalls are dominated by genuine Irish products: wool scarves, handmade jewellery with Celtic designs, and landscape-inspired ceramics.
🌟 Warming Flavours – mulled wine, delicious baked goods, and Hot Toddy!
🌟 Music and Storytelling – markets in Ireland are loud, cheerful, and full of life! They are often accompanied by traditional music sessions (known as sessions) in nearby pubs and local artists sharing old Irish fairy tales and legends.

Which of these places would you most like to visit?

Have you ever heard of — or perhaps even tried — traditional Irish Stew?🤔
It’s a delicious dish, perfect for a cold and humid autumn🌧️ It's typically made with meat and vegetables, and sometimes features dark Irish stout🍺

If you want, you can make it yourself! It’s easy! You will need:
🥩 high-quality stewing meat, such as beef or lamb
🥕 basic vegetables like potatoes, onions, and carrots
🍲 beef or vegetable stock, or optionally, a dark stout (e.g., Guinness)
🌿 just a touch of salt, pepper, thyme, and bay leaves

The secret to a great stew is long, slow cooking until the potatoes start to break down... Bon Appétit!😋

Wondering what a typical workday of an ALH carer looks like?🏡 Take a look at the sample daily plan 👉
Remember, ALH carers work 5 to 6 days a week, for a minimum of 35 hours. Usually, our seniors are looked after by their families on weekends, and the carers have time off for themselves. When overtime is needed, we pay for it additionally!💸

Today, on World Stroke Day 🧠 we turn our special attention to our beloved seniors, who are most at risk of this sudden and dangerous event.

Stroke is a race against time, and most strokes in older adults manifest in the same, characteristic way. If you recognize one of the symptoms, be sure to:
📞 Call Emergency Services Immediately (112) Inform the dispatcher of a suspected stroke. This is a priority that will speed up the assistance.
🚫 Give Nothing to Eat or Drink Do not give medication (even for blood pressure) or liquids to avoid the risk of choking.
🛌 Position Safely If the person is conscious, lay them down with their head slightly raised. If they are unconscious, place them in the recovery position (on their side).
⏳ Note the Time Remember when the first symptoms appeared. This information is critical for doctors to administer effective treatment.

In the case of a stroke, every minute counts. Rapid action—reaching a hospital equipped with a stroke unit within the so-called "therapeutic window" (about 4.5 hours)—can prevent disability or death.

Do you think Ireland is just about shamrocks, Guinness, and rain? Wrong! Discover 5 of the most surprising facts that might change your view of the Emerald Isle! 👇

1️⃣ Ireland is the only country in the world to have a musical instrument (the harp) as its national symbol. Not the shamrock leaf! Visit Trinity College in Dublin to see the oldest harp that became the model for the coat of arms!

2️⃣ Saint Patrick was British. The Patron Saint of Ireland was born in Roman Britain. He was kidnapped and brought to the island as a slave.

3️⃣ Although Guinness is a symbol of Ireland, the country is not the leader in its consumption. More of this famous dark stout is sold in... Nigeria!

4️⃣ Ireland is the cradle of Halloween, not the USA! The roots of Halloween go back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. It was Irish emigrants who brought this tradition to the USA, where it gained global popularity.

5️⃣ Punctuality? Time is flexible (Irish Time). If people in Southern Europe are accustomed to mañana, the Irish have their own concept of time: "Irish Time." Don't be surprised if meetings start with a slight delay. Relationships and the moment are valued more than strictly adhering to the clock.

Start your own adventure on the surprising Emerald Isle!
