Summer skin is created in winter. Here are some of our top tips for this time of year:

1. Dry, dehydrated skin often needs twice daily moisturiser and regular mild exfoliation in winter months. Skin is more dry due to indoor heating impacting the top layer. Viruses, coughs, and colds also take their toll on the skin barrier leaving it red, broken and irritated.

2. Try to increase retinol usage. Acclimatising to retinol is harder in summer if your skin is exposed to sunshine. The side effects can be easier to tolerate during winter months but will require regular moisturiser.

3. Plan out your skin goals. If you want results by the summer, now is the time to do any procedures that require downtime. Collagen building procedures can take three months for the biggest effect and sun can be tough on post-procedure sensitive skin.

ZO retinols are one of our most popular products and would be the gold standard for optimising skin health, however these products can leave your skin more sensitive and reactive to certain procedures.
