Yesterday saw me back in the classroom giving a CPR / defibrillator training course to six fabulous nurses in a nursing home. The last time I was in the same nursing home teaching the very same course, a few hours later the staff were putting into practice the skills that they had learnt earlier that morning for real when a resident collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. The swift actions by the staff and the quality of the CPR with the aid of the defibrillator (3 shocks given) manged to obtain a return of spontaneous circulation ( ROSC) and was alive when the National Ambulance Service crews arrived on scene.

Just goes to show the importance of knowing CPR because you never know when the life saving skills could be required.

Well done to everyone involved and it was great to catch up with ye again.👏

Been a busy few day's. On Thursday, I was in a Secondary School with 32 Ty Students doing First Aid /CPR Training. Some really nice slings done by the Students on the day and great CPR. Sure while I was there, I decided to check the schools defibrillator which needed a bit of tender loving care. I've been informed a new battery and pads have been ordered👌

Then today I was in my kids School doing a CPR / Defibrillator Refresher for the Teachers/ SNA's. It was pointed out to the Principal that the defibrillator pads were out of date and 2 minutes later a new pair was produced and swapped out. To be fair to him, he ordered them a month ago and I said when they arrive I'll swap them out. Oh how time flies!! My youngest Daughter even made an appearance on her way home saying "make sure you give the Múinteoirí lot's of homework"

All good and well done to everyone that took part thus enhancing the chain of survival👏👏

92 Transition Year Student's trained up in hands only CPR / Defibrillator over four day's. In one of the classes, there were 3 French Students on a student exchange programme so they'll be bringing their new found skills back to 🇫🇷 with them👌. Well done to everyone that took part thus enhancing the chain of survival.

CPR is really child's play and here's the proof. This is my 8 and a half year old (the half is extremely important) doing compressions on a manikin while wearing her coat too mind you🤣
