Sometimes, it can be even more difficult to be who you want to be or just being authentic.

But pretending to be someone else to keep someone happy can be exhausting.

I'm sure once you realise that you're doing it, you'll realise it's a massive dose!

Making a decision to post more regularly can be a challenge, being honest, I think it's a dose to keep up with. But sometimes it's fun.

Maybe you're already back at work, you've fallen victim to the way the calendar fell this year.

Or Maybe you're back on Monday and that Glenroe Fear is starting to creep in. The theme song is like a time machine for so many. The dread that the weekend is over, you have school in the morning and you've forgotten to do your maths homework.

It would be easy for me to share a long list things to do to combat the Glenroe Fear. Maybe just knowing that this is a collective experience, something that lots of people are experiencing and you're not alone can be beneficial.

For everyone that went back to work on the 2nd and those that worked through the holidays, fair play, you deserve a medal.

The long weekend is coming, it's a busy time of year for Cork with the jazz festival. Lots of craic to be had.

With every long weekend it's time to relax and have fun. It is a time to go out, meet out with friends, watch jazz.

It can be really difficult to be yourself, to be authentic and be comfortable around others, even close friends and family. There is loads of reasons we drink, with moderation it can be great craic. So many of us use drink to make us seem more interesting, more fun, a bit of craic. People might think "They're well able to drink". But you don't drink or anything else to change who you are.

Maybe this is the weekend to explore what it would be like to be your authentic self. Being your authentic self is fierce craic.

Have a savage weekend.

It can be a really stressful time so consider trying at least one grounding or relaxation technique.

One that a lot of people find helpful is the five senses:
Notice five things that you can see
Notice four things that you can touch
Notice three things you can hear
Notice two things you can smell

We all have our own unique experiences, world view, story, needs and wants. This is why I try to create unique and personalised therapy for each person that comes to me for support.

Some people come for cognitive behavioural therapy, some come for grief or processing a loss, some people come for exploration and some come but don't know specifically what is wrong but there is a sense that something is wrong.

It is my job to create a space for you to process what you need or want.

Making mistakes are what make us human. I often make mistakes, errors in judgement, over estimating what I can fit into a morning or even grammatical or spelling errors here.

I try to learn or at least understand my mistakes, see what I can gain from them. However, I am human and I try to be compassionate to myself.

Perhaps you can reflect on what you can learn from your mistakes and be compassionate to yourself.
