We wish to update our patients in relation to the Level 5 Restrictions currently in place. Physiotherapy is listed as an essential healthcare service referenced under Human Health and Social Work activities as published by the Department of the Taoiseach on the 14th October 2020. Therefore our clinic is to remain open to provide essential physiotherapy services.
We would like to reassure our patients that social distancing and infection control protocols in accordance with the guidelines of the HSE and Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists are being fully implemented and strictly adhered to, to ensure the provision of a safe clinical environment for all patients and staff.
We are also continuing to offer remote consultations and assessments for patients in vulnerable groups or those who are not quite comfortable with clinic based intervention during this time. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further details or to arrange an appointment on (021) 4890300.

In order to comply with government guidelines and the advice of our professional body, the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) we closed our physiotherapy clinic on 18th March. It was a decision that was taken following much deliberation as we tried to balance our commitment to providing physiotherapy care to our patients with promoting public health directives. However, given that manual therapy, by definition, requires close contact that is unavoidable, we felt that we had no option but to close the clinic to protect the health of patients and staff alike. We sincerely regret the disruption of treatment programmes caused to all our patients at this time.
Since the time of our closure, we have made ourselves available to our patients via phone, video-calls and e-mail to provide advice and support to help them self-manage their condition. We took the decision not to charge for this service in recognition that this was an anxious time for our patients.
We are pleased to announce that following the publishing of the Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business by the Department of the Taoiseach on 1st May, we are re-opening our clinic on Monday 18th May. Please be assured that social distancing and infection control guidelines are being implemented and will be strictly adhered to, to ensure the provision of a safe clinical environment for all patients and staff.
Patients will be screened with a symptoms questionnaire and will have their temperature checked prior to treatment in accordance with the guidelines of the ISCP. Physiotherapists will wear PPE and patients will be asked to wear facemasks/face coverings and to use hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the clinic. Frequently touched surfaces will be regularly disinfected. The clinic is implementing shift rosters and staggered appointment times and patients will be asked to remain in their car until the time of their appointment to facilitate social distancing. Rehabilitation programmes will be e-mailed to patients after their appointment to reduce contact time as much as possible.
We will also offer ‘Telehealth’ remote consultations and assessments for patients who are in the specified vulnerable groups, including those who have underlying medical conditions or who are not quite comfortable with clinic based assessment and treatment at this stage. For elderly or infirm patients, for whom a visit to the clinic is not possible or advised and remote intervention is inadequate, our physiotherapists will provide home visits, following pre-assessment screening and adherence to PPE protocols for such visits.
Please contact us for further details or to arrange an appointment on (021) 4890300.
We hope that you and your families take care and enjoy good health during this difficult time. Working together we can negotiate these challenges and make gradual progress towards normality once more!
