Kate Russell - Kinesiologist

Kate Russell - Kinesiologist Kinesiology is a complementary therapy that fuses Eastern and Western modalities. Ask yourself if you can relate to any of the above. lighter? better?

I use simple, non-invasive techniques to alleviate pain and symptoms of stress, and where possible, teach you these techniques enabling and empowering you to treat yourself. Kinesiology uses muscle-monitoring (biofeedback) to determine the root cause of a symptom (problem/pain/blockage etc), and which area of the system should be balanced, in order to alleviate the symptom, thus restoring balance to the system and allowing you to feel happier / lighter / better / pain-free / (insert positive emotion of your choice). When somebody asks me what Kinesiology is, I still have trouble summarising it, without using words like 'complimentary', 'energy' and 'balance'. It is only as a result of personally experiencing the many positive benefits of Kinesiology, that I am writing this now. I have a degree in Genetics and have worked in the world of research for many years, thus, my scientific mind still balks sometimes at 'holistic', 'alternative' and some of the terms referenced above . HOWEVER, balance is something we can all relate to, and I believe we strive to maintain it each day. 'Work/Life balance', 'keeping all the balls in the air', feeling 'out of sync', 'off kilter' and 'out of whack' are terms we can all relate to. These terms can be associated with stress and anxiety, fatigue, digestive problems, pain and tension etc. These are the symptoms that Kinesiology aims to eliminate, by restoring balance to our systems. If so, take a minute and do a quick body scan. Ask yourself how you feel NOW. Next, take a moment to identify how you would LIKE to feel (happier? pain free?) and if you are willing to take some simple steps to achieve this change. Despite my degree in Genetics, over the years, I have learned that we are far more than the sum of our genes. Our systems are made up of our structural bodies, our emotional states, our life experiences and the foods we eat (or don't eat). These all play a part in who we are, how we function and how we react to life's challenges (big and small). Each of these components are related to and affected by each other, thus any one of these can be focused on to restore balance to the system (see paragraph 1 again). I could break it down further but would never finish, so I will aim to delve deeper into different areas and techniques over the next few weeks.
