Homeopathy is never more visible in its action than when you experience an acute shock or pain and it vanishes with the help of a remedy. Whether you are in shock, and Aconite brings you swiftly back to earth. Or you are experiencing pain & the correct remedy comes to the rescue.

It’s easy to think that this should then happen for a chronic condition that maybe we have had for many years. However, this is where the real magic is. When the constitutional remedy begins to work away in the background of your life, slowly unravelling what it has taken some time for the processes in your body to weave into an illness. Homeopathy goes to the core of our response to life events and to the environment around us.

When someone comes back for a follow up, it’s interesting to see where the vital force has put the weight of its action. It often breaks off or softens our reaction to people or things that may have been a source of pain before. It nestles its way into old symptoms that have come and gone before & returned for one last examination before they disappear into the ether.

Silently working away, these remedies do their job with little applause at times, as the awareness has shifted on. The recipient may have forgotten their troubles and started to focus their attention on creativity or a new project once again. The work of the remedy has brought out a state of balance, often resolving the physical as well as the emotional trigger that has resided behind it.

Silent wonders, in open communication with your inner knowing to bring resolve. It often feels like a shoring up of the person has taken place, they are now free to be themselves with ease. The next layer may arrive on but the impetus for resilience is now very much present as if a pattern has been learnt.

We can have a narrowed perspective on health, through experience and the way the world has always been presented to us. But there is much that is available to us, that we might not see just yet. So many ways of addressing issues with autonomy and care for ourselves and those around.

Health and healing is a process that can be worked through should we have the openness and willingness to approach it differently if needed. There is far more than just one path or one doorway to go through in regard to our health.

We can move through layers of ourselves with insight and sometimes with the skillful help of practitioners and those willing to listen in this capacity and guide us on our way.

There is far more available to us than we will ever realise and we can use our own discernment to find our way towards that which will lead us to our greatest growth. The willingness comes first and then the doors will open.

If we ask ourselves what is bothering us at any given time, we can come up with a plethora of issues within our bodies. We can provide lists of longstanding issues that have seemingly arisen out of nowhere and have no correlation with each other. It’s hard to disentangle our sufferings as they are happening within us and seemingly don’t have a beginning or end. However, sitting in a space where you are listened to can bring you to the heart of the matter. This is why Homeopathy is so important.

Of course, the remedies that are produced in Homeopathy give you an overall picture and context of what may arise for each person due to their symptom picture but it goes far deeper than that.

Just sitting in Homeopathic consultation often brings insight to the person themselves as to the real matter that underlies their symptoms. The heart of the matter may be simple and disentangle these woven webs of suffering that we exist in at times.

I will often go to my own Homeopath, very clear as to what I want to say or what I feel needs to be addressed only to be brought down into the heart of the matter by the simple experience of having space. We run away from silence so much, our thoughts are left to run amuck. Gently moving these aside through the simple act of authentic presence can bring you so much more benefit than you could imagine

Vitality is always the first sign that healing has taken place. With Homeopathy, the remedies are seen to work with the person’s vital force. This means that when a person comes back for their follow up and the first thing they say is that they are feeling better in themselves, you know that they are on the right track.

Exhaustion is something that we all experience at times, and a continued level of exhaustion can mean that there is a confluence of processes at work. It could be as simple as a vitamin or mineral deficiency or an unrecognised issue within the system but more often than not a general level of exhaustion is energetic.

Scattered energy, being pulled in all directions in a seemingly endless way, can mean that you find it hard to preserve what energy you might have. And it can feel like the choice has been taken away from you in this instance. Maybe you have family members to take care of, obligations or are in a job where people lean on you. There is however, always a way to reclaim your energy.

The inner processes that are working away to push us in this direction can be addressed. Our drives, our fears, our willingness to push ourselves outside of what our bodies are screaming at us to not abide. The Homeopathic consultation helps you to unravel this, to see where you might be out of sync with yourself.

Peoples passions always show in their vitality. If you ask someone about something they are passionate about they will light up unconsciously and share a part of themselves that they may not even be aware of. There is the sense of vitality that you want to alight upon within yourself. What makes each of us tick is very different and those passions that you take up without thought are to be valued as they will lead you to a more vital stage in life.

We can’t always pursue our passions but even that intent to live as wholeheartedly as possible can be energy giving, until the moment comes where the space may open up to do so. At any moment we only see part of what is available to us. Being open and curious to life is so important.

Often, when we are going through difficult times, we withdraw into ourselves. When pain or suffering comes we often do everything we can to avoid the discomfort of it.

We tell ourselves a story around it - "I'm going to have this for life as its in my family", "this is all my fault, I shouldn't have worked so hard and now my back is going to take ages to come around", "I should have managed my diet better and this never would have happened".

We all have these internal monologues about ourselves which give no space for anything merciful towards ourselves to take place. We are our own biggest critics. The space that might open up, should we meet our difficulties with softness, compassion and the understanding that everything is impermanent leaves a lot more room for healing to take place.

Being open to discomfort is something I have learnt from understanding how the body works through the practice of Homeopathy. The body is wishing to express something to you in order for it to be resolved and if we push it down or suppress it, it won't get the chance to. If we push away pain, it often comes back, its alarm bells become louder and clearer until they are heard. Should you choose to sit with the pain, recognise it and soften into its presence it often dissolves away. Self compassion and a willingness to see ourselves as whole are often the keys to this. Just as you would care for others that are suffering, why not offer it towards yourself and see what happens..

We hold onto a lot, as part of being human. And it can be tiring to meet the same situations over an over, the same set of symptoms.

Sometimes, all it takes is someone to offer you space in order to unravel everything with you. This can often take the fear out of the situation and help you gain perspective.

This, to me is what Homeopathy is all about. Sometimes working through layers of a situation over time or often cutting to the core. The consultation is a space or an offering to the deeper wisdom within each person.

Its not often we get a chance to say exactly what is with us at any given moment. Often people feel like they are rambling or going off point but everything is relevant in Homeopathy. This allowance of expression is as important as the prescription itself.

Kindness towards ourselves is so important, we are the only ones living and experiencing this life for ourselves. In softness of being and expression we can heal.

Life is complicated

We are constantly being met with aspects of ourselves being expressed in other people or situations. Conflicts arise and we become stuck in a stance, an emotion or reaction. It can lead to a feeling of cynacism and despair and of course be expressed in our physical body whether we realise it or not.

With Homeopathy, you can see that the physical symptom that a person has come with is underlined or related to a reaction to a situation, person or circumstance and this stage of attachment can also addressed by the remedy chosen. Giving the remedy will often bring ease to the issue that the person has come with but also you can see a change in their trajectory as the obstacle is no longer there or has been dealt with internally or confronted.

This can be an imperceptible change for some as moving out of a space and into a new one often goes unnoticed by the one that has done the healing. However, when met with a similar situation going forward, there is the propensity now available to them for a different outcome.

We all get stuck from time to time and there is always a solution which can lead to compassion for you and the situation at hand and also growth. Letting go is a powerful medicine in and of itself and it can only lead to an expansive heart and a deepening awareness of yourself.
