My Canine Companion - Autism and Therapy Services My Canine Companion is an Irish national charity RCN 20079147 who provide accredited service dogs Many of our clients have dual or multiple diagnoses.

My Canine Companion is committed to enriching the lives of people with difficulties particularly autism,through the placement of highly skilled Service Dogs and companion dogs providing safety, independence, and companionship to our clients

As each child is different our organisation provides an outstanding customised service to meet the specific needs of each family. We work with children and young adults with not only autism but varied other conditions. We assess a families specific needs and we try to adapt our services to satisfy those needs. We have placed service dogs that work with two siblings on the spectrum, we have also placed two service dogs in families with two or more children on the spectrum. My Canine Companion does not have a cut off age for applying for our service we have successfully worked with a number of teenagers and young adults

Our MCC School Therapy Dogs loved celebrating World book day this week!

Did you know MCC school therapy dogs are making an enormous impact on student's reading ability in schools around Ireland!! Students around the country read to their MCC school therapy dog to increase confidence and reduce anxiety.

100% of schools who have implemented a reading programme with their MCC school therapy dog have seen a positive impact on the students reading ability!

Bus trips with your autism service dog are the best!!

MCC autism service dog, Yale, loves her trips on the bus with her best friend and bus lover, Riley.

She helps him to transition on and off the bus, through attachment.
Helps to regulate him while they go on their journey.
And helps to open conversation for Riley with others on the bus.

She makes trips like this possible!
