A great day on duty in Limerick as the OMAC Cork Unit teamed up with our colleagues from Limerick and Shannon to provide cover for race day. 🏇

Strong inter-unit cooperation, good planning, and teamwork on the ground ensured a smooth and professional operation throughout the day. It’s always a pleasure working alongside such dedicated volunteers, and days like this really highlight the value of collaboration across units.

Well done to everyone involved and thanks to our Limerick and Shannon colleagues for the warm welcome and excellent teamwork. 👏🚑

Cadet Training Night 🩺

Our cadets had a busy and practical training night, focusing on key lifesaving and first aid skills.
The session covered CPR, arm injuries and slings, and haemorrhage control, giving cadets the chance to learn, practise, and build confidence in handling real-world emergency situations.

Hands-on training like this is a vital part of developing skills, teamwork, and readiness — well done to all involved 👏

Great to be back at training with OMAC Cork after the Christmas break 💪🚑

This week was all about getting hands-on again — checking kit bags, refreshing equipment, and putting ourselves through our paces with some challenging scenarios. From fallen jockeys to intoxicated patients and fractures with suspected broken bones, it was a solid reminder of the wide range of incidents we need to be ready for.

Training hard, revisiting the basics, and pushing our skills keeps us sharp and ready to provide the best care when it matters most. Plenty of learning, teamwork, and a few well-earned aches — just the way it should be.

Onwards and upwards 👏

🌧️🐎 Duty Done at the Point-to-Point! 🐎🌧️

What a day out for the OMAC Cork Units, providing event duty at a very mucky point-to-point race this weekend! Despite the challenging underfoot conditions, our members turned out in force, showing professionalism, teamwork and good humour from start to finish.

From early starts to long hours on wet ground, everyone played their part to help ensure a safe and well-run event. A great example of OMAC in action – service, resilience and community spirit on full display.

Well done to all involved, and thanks to the organisers for having us. 👏⚜️

🏇🚑Mallow Races | Duty Update🚑🏇

What a weekend! Our Cork Unit volunteers were out in full force at the Mallow Races, working through rain, mud, and everything in between. Despite the tough conditions, spirits stayed high and the team delivered first-class care to all who needed it.

A huge thank-you to every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and professionalism over the weekend. Your dedication—no matter the weather—ensures that events like this can run safely and smoothly.

Special thanks as well to our colleagues from other units who supported the duty. Teamwork like this is what keeps our service strong.

Here’s to dry socks, hot showers… and to doing it all again soon!
