Omega-3 vs omega-6: Zašto je važna prava ravnoteža

Važno je da u našoj prehrani postoji prava ravnoteža između omega-3 i omega-6 masnih kiselina. Možemo to zamisliti kao klackalicu ili omjer između njih⚖️

Istraživanja su pokazala da prehrana s malo omega-3, ali s više omega-6 masnih kiselina može imati negativne posljedice po zdravlje. Omega-3 masne kiseline pokazale su pozitivne učinke na zdravlje na stanicnoj razini. Sa druge strane, neka istraživanja su povezala više razine omega-6 s povećanim upalama i kroničnim bolestima. Posebno oblik omega-6 masne kiseline, linolna kiselina (LA), može uzrokovati veće upale u tijelu.

Prije mnogo godina, prije nego što su se pojavile prerađene namirnice, omjer između omega-6 i omega-3 u prehrani bio približno 1:1.

Omega 3 i 6 su obje esencijalne masne kiseline. Problem je što u našoj prehrani imamo previše Omega 6, a premalo Omega 3.
Svi znamo da se Omega 3 nalazi u masnoj ribi, ali zapravo količina i kvaliteta ribe često nisu dovoljni da postignemo zdrav omjer. Masna riba iz masovnog uzgoja ili niska kvaliteta ribe često može biti siromašna ili potpuno lišena Omega 3 u usporedbi s divljom ribom ili algama u islandskim jezerima odakle Zinzino crpi svoj Omega 3 i stvara svoje karakteristično Balance ulje.
Više razine Omega 6 i niske razine Omega 3 povezane su s proinflamatornim stanjem. S autoimunim upalnim stanjima u porastu (npr. reumatoidni artritis, alergije, astma itd.), ima smisla učiniti sve što možemo kako bismo smanjili rizik.
