On Monday, 15th December 2025, the CUH Research & Innovation Committee, alongside CEO Ms. Jennifer Kearney, marked this significant milestone.
This strategy is an affirmation of CUH's commitment to advancing and strengthening the exceptional clinical research carried out across all disciplines.

This strategy builds on our strong foundations, aiming to expand capacity and embed research and innovation as a core element of clinical care. HSE South West is leading the way in trauma-informed care through new training for healthcare professionals.

A Trauma-Informed Care training programme was launched recently at Cork University Hospital by CEO Jennifer Kearney.

The training was designed by Dr Maria Leahy, Principal Psychologist at the CUH Hospital Psychology Department. Working with colleagues and research experts at UCC, the training is being researched and evaluated in order to fill a critical gap in healthcare education.

* One visitor per patient
* Visitors to wear surgical masks
* Visits during visiting hours only.

CUH is rolling out a Patient and Visitor travel survey to establish how patients and visitors currently travel to CUH.

The aim of the survey is to gauge the publics views on accessibility to the campus. The data collected will help CUH as a healthcare provider to identify barriers to care, plan services, and improve the patient journey.
