On Tuesday, 2nd December 2025, charities across Ireland are coming together to thank their Trustees, share inspiring stories, and encourage more people to consider volunteering at a board level.

Trustees play a vital role in guiding strategy and ensuring strong governance, enabling charities to deliver essential services to communities across the nation. Their dedication and leadership make a real difference every day.

We are delighted to announce that our school will be taking part in Type Onesie Day in support of the CUH Charity and the Paediatric Diabetes Service at Cork University Hospital.
Together, we’re raising awareness of Type 1 diabetes, showing solidarity with children living with it, and helping fund better care and support services- one onesie at a time!💙✨

𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲: 𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁

CUH Charity, supports initiatives that bring comfort, connection, and healing to patients during their time in hospital. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, a newly donated piano is already making a lifting spirits.

St Finbar’s Rehabilitation Unit cares for older adults recovering from falls, injuries, or surgeries. Long and challenging recoveries can be as emotionally tough as they are physically.

Dr Pádraigín O’Sullivan turned to CUH Charity to support for funding for a permanent piano. The joy these performances brought to both patients and staff made it clear, music truly is medicine.

Maureen Lancaster shares her talent and love for music with others on the unit, accompanied by porter, John on vocals. The piano offers patients, like Maureen a chance to express themselves, reminisce privately or connect with others through song.

Oran has never let Type One Diabetes slow him down. Over the last year, he has done a lot of fundraising, so of course, he would make a great ambassador for this year's Type Onesie Day!

Now his school and classmates are showing their support and are asking other primary schools to sign up too. Type Onesie Day is an educational day all about getting to know Type One Diabetes, it raises funds for Paediatric Diabetes services in CUH, which runs clinics for Cork, Kerry & Tipperary.

Primary Schools all over Munster are back in pyjamas this November 14th! 🌟

From rugby legend to “Disaster Dad” author — Donncha proved he’s just as good at storytelling as he is at tackling! Thankfully, no disasters today… unless you count the giggles! 📚😂

At Cork University Hospital, our amazing Speech and Language Therapists play a vital role in supporting patients of all ages and conditions, from little ones in the neonatal unit to older patient's recovery from stroke or managing motor neuron disease. Anne Barrett, our Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist in Stroke, shares how new technology, like the recently purchased iPads, enhances care and rehabilitation for everyone.
