We have to keep our girls on the pitch.
Not just for the medals. Not just for the matches. But for the belonging.
Because being part of a team changes a girl. It teaches her that she matters. That her voice counts.
The football field becomes a place where she learns resilience, courage and confidence.
GAA is never just about the sport. It’s about the laughter in the dressing room. The post-match reflection.
For so many, that pitch is where lifelong friendships are born. It’s where memories are made that will be spoken about at 30, 40, 50 years of age.
It’s where young girls learn that strength isn’t about being the best. It’s about showing up, again and again, for yourself and for each other.
When we keep girls playing football, we’re not just building athletes. We’re building community. We’re building leaders.
And that matters far beyond the final whistle.
So let’s keep encouraging them.
Let’s keep supporting them.
