Want to climb harder, longer, and with fewer injuries?

Strength = Protection

Strength training is more than just lifting weights or pulling harder β€” it’s protective.

By building stronger muscles, tendons, and connective tissues, you create a more resilient body that can tolerate the demands of climbing.

Fewer tweaks, less niggles, and way more time on the wall.

Why Climbers Should Strength Train:

🚫 Lower injury risk

πŸ§— More time on the wall, less time sidelined with injuries and niggles

⚑️ Capacity to handle harder moves and bigger training loads

πŸ”‘ A stronger foundation for long-term climbing progress

🧨 The capacity to push into harder grades with confidence

Think of strength as your armor - it doesn’t just make you pull harder, it allows you to practice the skill of climbing more, push further, and keep doing what you love - climbing.

Strength Training supports performance, protects against injury, and ultimately allows you to progress with more confidence and longevity in the sport.

Finger Flexor Testing for Climbers.

Standardised testing set up.
Aligning with current industry research recommendations to create the most standardised testing procedure for better testing reliability, validity and repeatability.

🎞 Video 1:
20mm Peak Force Output πŸ’ͺ
What is your ability to produce maximal force. A slow gradual build of force to hit your peak force output without a time constraint.

🎞 Video 2:
20mm Rate if Force Development (RFD) πŸ’₯
How much force can you produce quickly. Force with a time constraint. In climbing we often refer to this as Contact Strength. Your ability to produce force quickly. Looking at force / RFD at 150ms and 200ms.

How much of your maximum force can you express within 150ms or 200ms?
Climbers need good contact strength, particularly for bouldering and for hard cruxes on routes.
Your ability to express your force quickly is often the difference of holding on to a hold or not.

In these examples I am using gold standard, lab grade πŸ§ͺ testing equipment with sampling rate of 1000Hz πŸ“ˆ to ensure RFD Testing is accurate 🎯

Sufficient sampling frequency is vital for accurate RFD Testing βœ…

Shoulder Testing.

Climbers really punish their shoulders, awkward positions, dynos, deadpoints, just really put their shoulders through it all!

There's a reason shoulders are second most frequently injured body part in climbers (with finger injuries at top of the list!)

It's good to have a reliable and valid testing framework such as ASH Tests, using testing equipment to get objective data.

Dealing with niggley shoulders? Had a shoulder injury recently and can't quite get back to full climbing? Or want to just build robust shoulders to withstand all that climbing throws at them?

Get assessed and get on the right plan for you. DM amd let's get started πŸ’ͺ
