We were delighted to welcome the CIL Precision Manufacturing team from Cappoquin Co. Waterford to Pipelife for a benchmarking visit focused on Lean and Operational Excellence (OE).
The visit provided a great opportunity to share practical experiences, discuss approaches to continuous improvement, and openly exchange learnings on what works (and what doesn’t) when embedding Lean principles on the shop floor. From leadership behaviours and problem solving routines to employee engagement and standardisation, the discussions were open, honest, and highly valuable for both teams.
Benchmarking visits like this are a powerful reminder that Operational Excellence is a journey, not a destination. By learning from one another and challenging our thinking, we strengthen not only our own operations but the wider manufacturing community.
