February 2nd is an important day in the history of the Marie Keating Foundation. This year it is the 28th anniversary of Marie Keating’s passing, the woman whose name and legacy has led to thousands of people and families being supported at every step of a cancer journey. Lives have been saved and journeys have become less challenging thanks to all that has been built in her name.
The Marie Keating Foundation, established in 1998 by the Keating family, was founded after Marie, a mother of five, tragically passed away at age fifty-one from a treatable form of breast cancer.
Marie was unaware of the early signs, which led to a delay in seeking medical care. The family’s enduring commitment is to ensure that free, life-saving cancer information and support are accessible to all people in Ireland. Her family set up the Foundation in her name, and it is passionately committed to ensuring that access to free, lifesaving cancer information and support is available to all people in Ireland. The Foundation, our Board and the Keating family remain dedicated to this mission.
