Fi O'Meara Chartered Physiotherapist Fi O’Meara is a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Paediatric Disability and Development.

She also works as a Breathing Therapist specifically addressing breathing dysfunctions such as asthma, snoring and exercise induced bronchospasm. Fi has extensive experience working with babies and children both with disabilities and also with developmental issues. Fi has worked with children for over 20 years and as a mother of two young boys is very passionate about free movement, experiential learning through play and sensory development for children. She uses play, songs and games to motivate children and works closely with Alan Lyons to combine their skills to best suit the needs of the children who attend Barefoot Physio. Fi lectures in Infant Development on the Physiotherapy BSc in UCC and in the Area of Paediatric Disability in Trinity College Dublin and UCC Cork. Fi is also a Buteyko Practitioner and teaches Buteyko breathing to both children and adults. Buteyko is a form of breathing therapy which manages conditions such as asthma, rhinitis, snoring, sleep apnoea, anxiety and hypertension, as well as promoting an optimal cranio-facial development. The Buteyko Method is also increasingly used with athletes to improve their breathing technique and control symptoms such as wheezing, coughing and breathlessness.

Fi is based in Barefoot Physiotherapy Clinic on the Model Farm Road in Cork. Fi has extensive experience working with babies and children both with disabilities and also with developmental issues.
