Tip: How Repetitive Strain Can Affect the Shoulders and Wrists

Modern life asks a lot of our upper body with typing, scrolling, driving, lifting, or working with tools, often in the same repetitive motions day after day.

Over time, these patterns can lead to tightness, inflammation, and restricted movement in the shoulders, forearms, and wrists. You might notice stiffness, tingling, or weakness.

• Holistic massage helps by increasing circulation, softening tight muscles, and easing the build-up of tension in the soft tissues.

• Lymphatic drainage massage supports recovery by reducing inflammation and swelling, helping to clear waste products that can build up in overworked muscles and joints.

• Kinesiology goes deeper, identifying the underlying imbalances that may be contributing, whether they’re physical (muscle weakness or posture), emotional (stress or frustration), or energetic.

Together, these treatments not only ease discomfort but also restore balance, flow, and strength — helping your body work with you again, not against you.

💛 World Kindness Day reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a ripple effect far beyond what we imagine.

A warm smile, a helping hand, a listening ear, a word of encouragement, giving someone a parking ticket, paying for someone’s coffee…… they all carry the power to brighten someone’s day and bring more compassion into the world.

Today and every day, let’s choose kindness, toward others, and toward ourselves. Afterall, it is free so let’s share it generously. 🤗❤️

If you’ve never experienced a lymphatic drainage massage before, it can be hard to imagine what it feels like, especially since the pressure is so light and gentle.

Many first-time clients expect deep pressure or strong movements… and are often surprised when they realise how subtle the technique is. But that’s the beauty of it.

Here’s how clients often describe the sensation:

💭 “It felt so light I wondered if it was doing anything…. but I could feel things shifting inside.”

💭 “It’s like my whole body relaxed at once.”

💭 “I felt tingling and warmth, like things were moving and clearing.”

💭 “It’s deeply calming, I almost drifted off to sleep.”

💭 “Afterwards, I felt lighter, clearer, and more comfortable in my body.”

Lymphatic drainage massage works gently with your body’s natural rhythm to encourage fluid movement, reduce swelling, and support detoxification.

It’s proof that healing doesn’t always have to be forceful, sometimes the gentlest touch creates the deepest results. 💚

This quote reminds us that healing, balance, and growth all begin with you.

Whether it’s taking that first step toward better health, showing up for your self-care routine, or committing to making changes that support your well-being, your effort is the key that unlocks it all.

The body and mind are incredible at healing, but they respond best when we actively support them, with rest, nourishment, movement, and intention.

When you do the work, even small consistent steps, everything else begins to align.

What I Do When I Notice Myself Running on Empty

Even though I help people with their healing, I’m human too, and there are times when I notice my own energy dipping, my patience thinning, or my body quietly asking me to slow down.

When that happens, I try not to push through anymore. Instead, I pause. I take a step back, breathe, and listen.

I might go for a walk in nature (the forest or the seaside), journal, light a candle, or simply rest without guilt. Sometimes it’s as simple as turning off the phone and sitting in silence or have a cuddle with Holly for a few minutes. And I definitely book an holistic treatment of some sort for myself!!

I’ve learned that when I honour my own needs, I can show up better for others.

Rest isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

Because healing work flows best from a place of balance, not burnout. 💚

Today is a day to remember that our words and actions online have a real impact on others.

Social media can be an asset in our lives but can also be a stranglehold with all its negativity. Let’s make social media a better place by being kind, supportive and understanding towards one another.

Why don’t you go now, and comment with a kind comment to someone you appreciate on your social media…… it can be a friend, a family member or even a complete stranger who makes your day better? Hopefully it will create a ripple effect of kindness, compassion and inclusion that will spread far and wide and warm our hearts and our screens!

To anyone that needs it today, here’s a great big bear hug. 🤗

Today is the perfect day to give someone a bear hug and enjoy the comfort, warmth, connection and love it can bring.

Did you know that hugging releases oxytocin (the feel-good hormone) which calms the nervous system, reduces stress, boosts happiness, reminds the body that it is safe and supported and even improves health? ❤️

So today, let’s channel that “bear hug” energy into showing kindness, sharing warmth, and spreading positivity! 🤗💚❤️

NATIONAL STRESS AWARENESS DAY

Do you think you are stressed? Are you in denial but still feel like this:

• A brain that never slows down

• Wakening up during the night and not able to get back to sleep

• Gut problems – bloating, acid reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pain

• Always in “fight or flight” mode, on edge, can’t sit still

• Tension in your neck and shoulders

The more we ignore it, little niggles become illness, and the body becomes dis-eased!

Every day we respond to difficult situations, but today, on National Stress Awareness Day, why not plan to respond differently?

Take a few minutes to slow down and become aware of your body, breathe and allow yourself to be. You can then listen to what your body needs. Small acts of self-care can make a big difference, whether it’s a walk in nature, a massage or kinesiology session, or simply taking time to rest.

Make it a priority for November, don’t think it as a luxury. Choose to look after yourself now before it becomes less of an option.

Tip: The Emotional Connection Between the Gut and Intuition

You’ve probably heard the phrase “trust your gut”, and there’s real wisdom in it.

The gut isn’t just where digestion happens; it’s often called our “second brain.” It has its own complex network of nerves that constantly communicates with the brain, influencing how we feel, think, and respond to the world around us.

When we ignore our intuition or push through stress, our digestive system often reflects it, through bloating, discomfort, or changes in appetite.

Likewise, when we’re emotionally balanced and calm, the gut tends to feel lighter, more settled, and at ease.

Holistic and lymphatic drainage massage as well as kinesiology can help to restore balance by soothing the nervous system, releasing tension around the abdomen, and helping the body reconnect with its natural signals.

Learning to listen to your gut, physically and emotionally, can be one of the most powerful steps toward true healing and self-trust.

How Many Sessions Do I Need?

It’s a question I hear often and the honest answer is, it depends on your body and your goals.

Every person’s journey is unique. Some clients notice a big shift after just one session, especially when their body simply needed help to reset. Others benefit from a series of treatments to gently release deeper patterns of tension, stress, or imbalance that have built up over time.

• For new or acute issues: A few sessions close together can help your body stabilise and respond more quickly.

• For ongoing support: Regular maintenance sessions (monthly or every few weeks) help prevent stress, tension, and fatigue from building up again.

• For overall wellbeing: Many clients choose to keep treatments as part of their self-care routine to stay balanced, centred, and connected.

Healing isn’t a quick fix. It’s a process of listening to your body and responding to what it needs. I’ll always work with you to create a plan that feels right, supportive, realistic, and in tune with your life.

The goal isn’t just to feel better for a day! It’s to help your body stay well for the long term. 💛

Life has a way of guiding us, even when it feels like everything is falling apart.

Moments of loss, change, or uncertainty often hold hidden blessings. They create the space for something new and more fulfilling to take shape.

In healing, just like in life, we sometimes have to release what no longer serves us, like old habits, emotions, or ways of thinking, so that better things can flow in.

Trust the process. Even when it feels uncomfortable, know that something beautiful is being rearranged for your highest good.
