Background Iyengar, Ashtanga & Hatha In my classes, I aim to support students to increase flexibility, stretch & strengthen the body, build awareness of breath and breathing patterns and have the space to enjoy quiet mindful time and unwind from daily stresses. It is my hope to share my love of yoga with those I am privileged to teach, and I hope that my students get the same enjoyment that yoga practise and teaching gives me. I believe in the power of Ahimsa (kindness to self and honouring any
limitations physical or otherwise) &
Mindfulness / Awareness (being present to self). My Aims/Focus:
• Yoga is available to everyBODY.
• Increase flexibility, stretch and strengthen
• Good alignment
• Break postures down so students will feel safe and confident in the
posture
• Teach breathing techniques and connect breath to movement
(mindful movement)
• Relaxation

Who will benefit:
• The person new to yoga and may not be feeling confident and/or feeling uncomfortable
(Asaña/postures can be adapted/modified using the props and cues to suit limitations due to physical or medical conditions and allow the student more stability and improved alignment in the pose, and to prevent strain and injury)
• The person who is already practising yoga and would like to break postures down to understand them better
• Anyone who is interested in learning about themselves and yoga
• EveryBODY 😊

General Outline of Classes:
• Centring/settling in – mat-based/supine – allow the students to settle in to find stillness
• Warm-up (asaña & pranayama) – mat-based/supine –gentle asaña/postures that will take the spine through a full range of motion & connecting breath to movement
• Pavan Muktasaña – Joint freeing sequence
• Strengthen & stretch – selection of asaña/poses (standing/seated/supine) that will take the body through a full range of motion depending on the theme/area of focus of that week.
• Savasasaña/ Relaxation
