Gluteal Amnesia can be a real pain in the butt! Literally. It can make any movements that involve the glutes such as running, walking, squatting, lunging more difficult to perform.

It's usually thought to be an inability to contract or 'fire' our large gluteal muscles. I'd argue it's an inability to actually RELAX our butt muscles. But in any event, don't worry I've got you covered.

I've created a simple sequence of Somatic Movements to help you pandiculate your glutes for less tension, more comfort, improved control and better movement. After this you'll be able to contract AND relax you glute muscles expertly.

It is possible to lessen your feelings of anxiety and calm your nervous system quickly. Allow me to guide you through a brief series of Somatic movements designed to reduce the physical effects of anxiety.

This sequence of simple movements will release and relax all the muscles that are hardwired to contract automatically in response to anxiety, fear and worry. Namely the muscles of the back of the neck, chest, belly and inner thighs. Once these muscles are relaxed you can expect to breathe more easily, feel calmer, more grounded, and much more comfortable.

GOT BACK PAIN? Always stiff and sore? Movement feels like a chore?

YOU can use the exact sequence above to ease back pain, relieve stress, reduce muscular tension and make your back feel comfortable again.

Looks simple right? That’s because it is! :D

This sequence allows you to relearn how to move your spine freely and easily.

It starts with gentle extension and flexion of the lower back. Once you get the hang of arching and flattening your lower back, you’ll be amazed how good it feels!

Then onto your front to release ALL the muscle of the back of the spine. We release the diagonals, shoulder to opposite hip, and then straight down the spine..

All your back muscles are feeling much more relaxed and long now, so on to your front to relearn how to gently curl forward, further lengthening out our back muscles.

You’re finished, lay back and enjoy the feeling of comfort and relaxation.

Once learned, this entire sequence can be completed in less than 10 minutes. Practiced daily it can keep your back feeling relaxed, supple and comfortable.
