MC CULLAGH
Acknowledgement of the Late Christian McCullagh - Month’s Mind Mass
St Eunan’s Chapel, Raphoe – Friday, 10th October 2025 at 7.30pm
The family of the late Christian McCullagh would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who offered their support during the recent loss of our beloved son.
We are deeply thankful to the many who attended the wake and funeral, and to those who sent messages of condolence. The outpouring of support—cards, Masses, flowers, donations to charities, gifts, social media posts, and media coverage—has meant so much to us throughout Christian’s illness and his passing.
A sincere thank you to everyone who assisted in any way during the wake and funeral. To the many friends and neighbours who stewarded the roads—especially Mike and Emmett Kelly, Mark Gillen, John Sweeney, Pierce McNamee, Denis Lafferty, Conor Brogan, Kevin McDevitt, Gerard Keaveney, Trevor Kilpatrick, Raphoe Town Football Club and all the coaches, Jeremy Ayton Buses (Ballindrait), and the bus drivers—we are forever grateful.
We extend heartfelt thanks to the tea ladies and the many helpers who supported us in the wake house over the two days, and to the neighbours, friends, and community members who delivered food to both the stewards and the wake house.
We are especially thankful to the local businesses who generously provided food parcels and support: Harris Service Station (Convoy), Coyle’s Centra (Raphoe), St Vincent de Paul, Purple Velvet, Mac’s Mace, Austin Daly, and Get Fresh (Deele College). Thank you also to O’Reilly’s Sports and The Label (Strabane) for your kindness and support.
Our sincere thanks go to Mrs Keeve, the teachers and SNAs of St Eunan’s National School; Joe Boyle, the teachers and SNAs of Deele College Raphoe; and Howard Welsh and the staff of Royal & Prior Comprehensive School for the care and support shown to Christian and our family throughout his illness, during the wake and funeral, and since his passing.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who organised and attended the guard of honour. It was a deeply moving and beautiful tribute to Christian.
A special thank you to Gráinne Gavigan Music, Aoife and Eugene McGinley, and Austin Quinn for the beautiful singing and music at Christian’s funeral service.
We are very grateful to Fr Kelly for your support, the rosary, and the deeply meaningful funeral Mass you gave to Christian. Thank you also to Deacon Laird, the altar servers, and the grave diggers for your service.
A heartfelt thank you to Bear Gamble and the “yellow Mustang” for leading Christian’s funeral procession on his final journey, and for your ongoing support throughout Christian’s illness and since his passing.
Our deepest thanks to Michael and Caroline Kelly of Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Raphoe, for the exceptional care and service you provided in bringing Christian home and arranging the wake and funeral. Your compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail brought us great comfort at a very difficult time.
A special thank you to those who were with us in Beaumont Hospital during Christian’s final hours, and to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff of St Teresa’s Ward and ICU at Beaumont Hospital—we are forever grateful to you all.
