The Mercy University Hospital Cork were honoured to recently welcome An Taoiseach Micheál Martin.

During his visit, An Taoiseach met with members of the leadership team - Ms Ann Doherty (Chair, Board of Directors), Ms Margaret McKiernan (CEO), Mr Brendan Doyle (DCEO/CFO), and Mr Paul Sweeney (Clinical Director, Peri-operative & Radiology).

Their discussion centred on the Mercy University Hospital Strategy 2025 - 2030 and key campus development projects currently underway - all designed to advance patient care and enhance the services we provide to our community.

This time last year Rachel O'Regan from Skibbereen ran her first full marathon to raise funds for cancer research and in support of her mum. Thanks to the support of family, friends and her community, Rachel crossed the finish line of Dublin City Marathon having completed 42km and raising an amazing €7,966.75 for the Mercy Hospital Foundation.

Sadly, Rachel's mother Hester passed away in December 2024 and is greatly missed by all who loved her. The donation Rachel has made in Hester's memory will support advanced care and offer hope to patients and their families in the Mercy University Hospital Cork.

Thank you Rachel 👏
