Podophyllum is mainly used for digestive complaints, especially when diarrhoea is profuse, watery, and exhausting. The stool may come suddenly and forcefully, leaving the person weak afterward.
It is often used in summer diarrhoea, food poisoning, or digestive upset after rich food.
When to think of Podophyllum
• Sudden, explosive diarrhoea
• Early morning urgency
• Diarrhoea after eating fruit or spoiled food
• Gurgling and rumbling in the abdomen
• Weakness and exhaustion after stool

• Large watery stools
• Abdominal rumbling before diarrhoea
• Feeling drained after passing stool
• Sometimes accompanied by nausea or vomiting
• Can occur during teething in children

• Irritable and weak during illness
• Feels drained and wants to lie down
• May feel mentally dull or exhausted
