The family of the late Emma Leonard née Byrne wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with them on their recent sad loss.
We are deeply grateful to our many friends, neighbours, and well-wishers who called to the house, attended the Funeral Mass and burial, and supported us in so many ways during this difficult time. Your kindness, prayers, and thoughtfulness brought great comfort to us all.
A special word of thanks to the musicians who contributed so beautifully to the
ceremony — to Gerry Mulroy, our dear friend Paudge O’Hare, and the flutist, Mairéad Gaffney. Our sincere thanks to Fr. Paddy Rushe and Fr. Akan for their support throughout Emma’s illness and for the heartfelt celebration of her life, and to Deacon Dermot for his moving homily.
We would also like to extend our deep appreciation to the Palliative Care Team of
Oriel Ward, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, for their exceptional care, compassion, and dignity shown to Emma and our family throughout her illness.
Sincere thanks to the Guards of Honour from Naomh Martín GAA, Albion Rovers,
Walshestown FC, St Joseph’s CBS, and St Buite’s NS – your contribution was a fitting reflection of Emma’s life and the communities she cherished.
To all who telephoned, sent Mass cards or messages, floral tributes, or made
charitable donations; to the Valley Inn for their generosity; and to those who travelled long distances to be with us – thank you most sincerely. We are especially grateful to our dear neighbours and friends whose support carried us through this time and continues to do so daily.
A special word of heartfelt thanks to Townley’s Funeral Directors for their care,
compassion, and gentle guidance throughout every stage of the arrangements. Their professionalism and kindness brought great comfort and reassurance to us at a very difficult time.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this
acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Emma’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, at 11:30am in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tenure, Co. Louth.
