Be the Mountain⛰️ Seasons change, You remain.

✨ In our Teen Creative Mindfulness session this week we talked about how we can spend so much energy wishing for "perfect conditions," but life doesn't work that way.

Life brings both beautiful and tough times, just like the changing seasons and the different types of weather that they bring. Instead of wishing for perfect moments, we can learn to embrace all that comes our way no matter what season of life we are experiencing. 🌼❄️🍂☀️

When we practice mindfulness, we create a bigger space inside ourselves that helps us handle challenges. We can watch our worries and joys come and go without getting lost in them.

We listened to the mountain meditation inspired by Jon Kabat-Zinn which helped us feel grounded, connected and supported just as we are in this moment.

We found out mindful practices such as mindful colouring, mindful movement and simple breathing practices can help calm our minds and bodies and give us space to choose how to best support ourselves.

We have a choice - instead of fighting the weather, we can choose to be the mountain that stands through it all.

Remember: You’re not the storm; you’re the one observing it. Stay calm, keep breathing, and trust that everything is temporary and the sun will shine again soon☀️

Loving Kindness💕

This week’s class with the AS group in The Hub St. Caimin's Community School was a beautiful and meaningful experience.

We explored how, although we may look different on the outside, we all share the same inner wishes—to be happy, healthy, safe, peaceful, and loved. The students reflected on the impact of unkind thoughts versus kindness and how kindness toward ourselves and others can change how we feel and how the world could be.

The children practised making kind wishes, beginning with themselves, and then extending those wishes to each other, their families, friends, and the wider world. Writing kind messages for one another on wooden stars was especially moving, as the children experienced the joy of receiving kind wishes firsthand💝

They also painted rocks with reminders and messages inspired by what they had learned over the past weeks.

Connecting with this special group of students, teachers, and SNAs over the eight classes has been a joyful and deeply rewarding experience.

I am truly grateful to share this work and the teachings of Creative Mindfulness Kids : Mindfully Me with such a wonderful group. 🌟

Thank you💗

This week’s Creative Mindfulness session in the Hub at St. Caimin's Community School focused on gratitude and reflection—exploring who and what we are thankful for in our lives.

Through learning about neuroplasticity and the idea that “what we practice grows stronger,” , we discovered how actively noticing gratitude helps cultivate a more positive, kind, and compassionate mindset.

During a gratitude reflection, we tuned into how appreciation feels in our minds, bodies, and hearts, allowing ourselves to fully experience the warmth and love that come from recognising the good in our lives.

We also spent time recognising gratitude for ourselves, celebrating our individuality, strengths, and inherent worth.

To support this practice beyond the session, we designed gratitude journals to bring home and a jar of grateful hearts to be kept in the class — simple tools to encourage daily reflection. By writing down something we’re grateful for each day, we can continue to nurture an attitude of gratitude.

As always, I am deeply thankful to Louise Shanagher Creative Mindfulness Kids Training . It is a privilege to share her inspiring teachings from the Creative Mindfulness Kids method with those I work with. 💝

Learning to be kind to me, too 💝

Today, in our Creative Mindfulness session in the hub in St. Caimin's Community School with the AS class, we learned about self compassion and how it can really support us when we are going through a difficult time.

We explored how mindfulness helps us get to know ourselves better and identify when we are struggling in some way and what might help support us at that time.

We discussed the many different ways we can look after our overall health and wellbeing.

We learned how showing ourselves the same care and kindness we would a friend can support us when we are finding things hard, but it can be difficult do this as so many have never learned how to. Every moment is a chance to begin again, and we can learn to Mind and Be Kind to ourselves.

With practice, we can cultivate a kind inner voice instead of the inner critic that visits us all at times. The students created beautiful affirmations to take home with them to remind them of their inherent value and uniqueness and help build a positive sense of self.

We learned that everyone struggles at times, it is part of life... we are not alone, and that kindness to ourselves and others is so important to our happiness and wellbeing.

All about me, tree🌳

What a great Teen session this week based on the Creative Mindfulness Kids Training

We explored all the things that make us who we are... the things we want to help grow in our lives and also the things that we might want to let go of...that are not currently helping us.

We learned that we can foster a more positive mindset by choosing to focus on the good things about us....our strengths, unique qualities and our inherent goodness and found out the more we look for the more we see💝
What we practice grows stronger

We can also learn to accept and allow the parts of us that we might not always like - they are part of us and belong too.

Mindfulness helps us choose what we focus our attention on. We can practice loving self - compassion when we are experiencing difficult thoughts and emotions helping to build our inner peace, strength and resilience💫

Last week, I had the brilliant opportunity to deliver an Introduction to Mindfulness session at Accenture, The Dock.

It offered staff a valuable chance to pause, relax both mind and body, and step away from the pace of their busy workdays. The session focused on three key areas:

• Informal “mini” mindfulness techniques that can be easily woven into daily life to support calm and positive well-being

• Formal guided mindfulness with a focus on self-compassion

• Creating space to reset and recharge by using the breath and senses to anchor into the present moment

It was a pleasure to be welcomed in and to meet everyone. The class was really well received, and it was especially meaningful to be teaching in my daughter’s workplace.

I am looking forward to more opportunities like this in the future! 💜
