🎄 Weekly Highlights – Mimi Care 🎄

We had a brilliant Christmas party this week — plenty of laughs, music and festive fun all round. A huge thank you to the wonderful Angel for making it such a great afternoon, our clients absolutely loved it.

Spending time with people living with dementia reminds us that enjoying the moment is what really counts — and this week had lots of moments worth enjoying.

🌟 Weekly Highlights at Shrewsbury House, Mimi Care! 🌟

What a special week it’s been! Our clients have been busy, creative, active, and—most importantly—enjoying each other’s company.

🍫 Baking Chocolate Brownies
The sweet smell of freshly baked brownies filled the centre as everyone got stuck into mixing, stirring, and of course… tasting!

🎶 Exercise to Music with Mia
Mia’s lively session had everyone moving, stretching, and smiling. The energy in the room was amazing!

🎤 Live Music with Alan, Grace & Ruairi
From favourite classics to heartfelt sing-alongs, our live music sessions brought so much joy—and plenty of dancing!

💅 Beauty Therapy & Nail Care
Relaxation and self-care were in full swing with hand treatments and fresh nails all round.

🎱 Bingo Fun
As always, bingo brought laughter, friendly competition, and a few happy winners!

🧩 Jigsaws & Colouring
Calmer moments were spent piecing together puzzles, colouring beautifully, and enjoying quiet companionship.

🗞️ Current Affairs Discussions
Lively chats helped everyone stay informed and share their thoughts and life perspectives.

💃 Lots of Dancing!
From spontaneous dance breaks to music-led moments, our clients truly lit up the room.

💛 Throughout the week, it’s been so heartwarming to watch everyone develop closer bonds—sharing stories, memories, and experiences that bring them together

🌿 The Power of Reflexology for People with Dementia 🌿

Reflexology can offer wonderful benefits for people living with dementia — helping to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, ease tension, and promote a sense of calm and wellbeing. The gentle touch and relaxation can also encourage meaningful connection and comfort.

At Mimi Care, we’re delighted to have a visiting reflexologist Denise who comes in each week to pamper and support our clients. 💆‍♀️💚 It’s a lovely moment of peace and relaxation that everyone looks forward to!

Our clients can avail of multi-disciplinary care within the centre such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hairdressing facilities

🌟 Weekly Highlights at Shrewsbury House! 🌟

It’s been another wonderful week full of laughter, care, and connection here at Shrewsbury House 💜

✨ We enjoyed reflexology sessions with Denise – pure relaxation for mind and body!
🎶 There was lots of live music throughout the week, keeping everyone’s spirits high.
💅 Pampering was in full swing with manicures and hairdressing.
🚶‍♀️ Our walks in Cabinteely Park brought plenty of fresh air and smiles.
💪 Exercise with Mia kept us moving and energised.
… and of course, lots more fun, friendship, and activities every day!

We’re also delighted to welcome our two Transition Year students from Clonkeen College who join us every Tuesday – they’ve been a fantastic help and a joy to have around! 👏
