Many patients in Ireland are currently facing long waiting lists for spinal procedures. What many people may not realise is that under the EU Cross Border Directive, you may be eligible to travel to Spain for surgery and claim reimbursement from the HSE for the cost of the procedure (up to the public cost of the same treatment in Ireland). 🇮🇪

Here’s Dermot at Traumacare Clinic with our amazing patient driver, Scott by his side.

Dermot has been struggling with back pain back home in Galway for some time. After learning how long he would have to wait, someone suggested he look into the EU Cross-Border Directive. After speaking with his doctor, who agreed it was a great idea, Dermot began exploring his options.

Dermot doesn’t use social media, but with the help of his wife, they took their time reading through Surgery Now’s reviews and patient stories. Reassured by the experiences of others, he reached out and spoke with Keith.

He is now here in Spain 🇪🇸 , ready for his surgery and the first steps towards a life with less pain.
