Period Poverty Campaign
Natural Hygiene, Ireland’s foremost leader in the provision of an all-encompassing suite of washroom and hygiene services, have just announced their latest initiative, a highly innovative campaign to eliminate period poverty in Ireland’s schools starting in January 2020.
Natural Hygiene are writing to hundreds of schools around the country with details of their ambitious plans to address period poverty.
Up to now, such topics were considered Taboo and were swept under the carpet and considered too sensitive to air in public, Dave Lahart, Commercial Director for Natural Hygiene has commented, as a 21st century hygiene services specialist company, we believe it is high time to put measures in place to “stamp out period poverty”. Dave added, we have designed a fantastic “Free” offering for schools and colleges nationwide.
It may come as a shock to the general public, but a recent white paper review by Natural Hygiene revealed that 61% of girls have missed school due to issues surrounding period poverty. This is a stark statistic; however the good news is that we have a plan to eradicate this unnecessary problem.
Natural Hygiene’s solution is to provide FREE branded sanitary products, which will be dispensed from Coin Free vending units these units will be installed into washroom facilities.
The company has received overwhelmingly positive feedback on this initiative on how they plan to stamp out period poverty from a wide cross section of girls only and mixed educational institutes nationwide.
