Company Press Release

Period Poverty Campaign

Natural Hygiene, Ireland’s foremost leader in the provision of an all-encompassing suite of washroom and hygiene services, have just announced their latest initiative, a highly innovative campaign to eliminate period poverty in Ireland’s schools starting in January 2020.

Natural Hygiene are writing to hundreds of schools around the country with details of their ambitious plans to address period poverty.

Up to now, such topics were considered Taboo and were swept under the carpet and considered too sensitive to air in public, Dave Lahart, Commercial Director for Natural Hygiene has commented, as a 21st century hygiene services specialist company, we believe it is high time to put measures in place to “stamp out period poverty”. Dave added, we have designed a fantastic “Free” offering for schools and colleges nationwide.

It may come as a shock to the general public, but a recent white paper review by Natural Hygiene revealed that 61% of girls have missed school due to issues surrounding period poverty. This is a stark statistic; however the good news is that we have a plan to eradicate this unnecessary problem.

Natural Hygiene’s solution is to provide FREE branded sanitary products, which will be dispensed from Coin Free vending units these units will be installed into washroom facilities.

The company has received overwhelmingly positive feedback on this initiative on how they plan to stamp out period poverty from a wide cross section of girls only and mixed educational institutes nationwide.

For more information on how schools can avail of this offering, please contact Natural Hygiene by telephone, email or via our website, quoting Period Poverty in the email subject line

Natural Hygiene are working with educational institutes across Ireland and have created the best solution possible for providing free sanitary products to young girls in schools and colleges nationwide.

We have developed free-vending dispensers which will be used to offer free sanitary products to young girls.

We’re confident that coin free-vending machines, are the most convenient and accessible way of “stamping out” period poverty.

We believe every young girl should have access to free sanitary products – they are a necessity, not a luxury.

Period poverty is a serious issue that’s affecting young
girls today in Ireland. Unfortunately, it’s on the
increase. "Over 61% of teenage girls have missed school
or college because of their period" was the finding of Natural Hygiene's white paper report.

Natural Hygiene has introduced coin free vending,
which will dispense free sanitary products in schools
nationwide. This will help to combat some of the anxiety
and embarrassment young girls feel every month.

We believe every young girl should have access to free sanitary products – they are a necessity, not a luxury.
