“I’d never been in a gym before.”
John joined STRONGER 15 months ago, just after turning 50.
Like a lot of people, he was active — the odd triathlon, a bit of tennis — but he didn’t have any real strength routine. And he knew that as you get older, resistance training becomes more important for long-term health and quality of life.
Walking into the gym for the first time was nerve-racking.
He didn’t know the exercises.
He didn’t know the technique.
And he wasn’t sure what to expect.
But what stood out straight away was the coaching.
Every session, someone is there showing you the movement again, helping with technique, and making sure you’re doing things properly. If you forget something, you just ask — and someone is there to help.
“That completely took away the stress of not knowing what I was doing.”
A couple of months in, once the technique started to click, things changed.
He got stronger.
His posture improved.
His core strength came back.
And like he says:
“You might think you see the change in the mirror… but when your wife says she sees the change, then you know it’s real.”
What John appreciates most is the coaching team.
Each coach has their own style, but they all share the same goal — making sure you move well, and gently pushing you a little further when you’re ready.
“I’ve never felt under pressure, but I’ve always felt supported to push myself in a really secure environment.”
His advice if you’re on the fence?
“You should try it. You never know.
Why wouldn’t you give it two weeks? You’ve nothing to lose.”
