Mountain pose flow

Join me for a 10-minute standing yoga sequence designed to build strength, balance, and stability, without placing weight on the hands or wrists. Rooted in the essence of Tadasana (Mountain Pose), this practice invites you to explore standing postures while cultivating focus, breath awareness, and inner resilience.

Try this practice anytime you need a hands-free flow that helps you to feel strong and supported. Mat optional!

Mountain Flow: Hands Free Practice is now up on the Yoga with Adriene YouTube channel and the FWFG app!

Dear Ones,

Words have a quiet way of shaping the feeling of a class.
Sometimes a single sentence can soften the room, steady the breath, or remind someone they belong.

When we lift each other up, we all rise.

To flow is to soften around change.
To find new paths towards the same destination.
When we go with the flow, life becomes lighter.
There is no need to push.
No need to strive.
No need to fight.
Simply be.

Pause in stillness, hands resting at your heart.
With a quiet mind, offer gratitude for another day.
Visualise the sun cresting the horizon.
Ask yourself gently:
What do I want to carry into this day?
What can I let go of, like dew at dawn?

Finally, take a slow, deep breath into your precious life.
Feel your body as a universe within a universe.
You belong here.
Your presence is needed at the table of life.
Rest here for a moment, breathing naturally.

May these words meet you where you are today — whether you’re teaching, practising, or simply breathing your way through the day.

When everything feels loud, yoga creates space from the inside out. Even five minutes of movement or mindful breathing can shift your whole day.

Yoga teaches pratyāhāra, the turning of attention inward.

As attention turns inward, the mind steadies.
Patañjali describes this as
yogaḥ citta vṛtti nirodhaḥ —
often translated as “the cessation of the mind’s fluctuations.”

Through practice, awareness stabilizes.
The senses soften.
Attention rests within.
Space opens, and clarity follows.

You deserve that space.
Space to breathe.
Space to be.
Space to return to yourself.

Your psoas is your body’s deep core connector, linking spine to legs, movement to stability, and even stress to sensation. When it’s tight from sitting, bracing, or daily stress, it can show up as low back discomfort, hip tightness, or that “wired” feeling in the body.

Yoga helps gently lengthen, strengthen, and regulate this powerful muscle through mindful movement and breath, creating more space, better posture, and a greater sense of ease.

✨ Yoga for PSOAS is on the YWA calendar today, meet yourself on the mat and give this deep core muscle some love.
