✨Master Chef Comes to The Four Ferns!✨

We recently hosted our very first Master Chef Competition here at The Four Ferns, bringing a wonderful buzz of excitement to the home. Chefs from each nursing home across the group take part in this friendly competition, creating their best dishes while our residents take on the very important role of judges.🎉

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed tasting the delicious creations and sharing their thoughts as they helped decide the winner.🥇

🏆 Congratulations to Chef Orla, whose fantastic Chicken à la King took first place! Chef Orla will now go on to represent The Four Ferns in the group final later this year.

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to our residents for being such brilliant judges. We are already looking forward to the final!💙

💜 We marked International Women’s Day at The Four Ferns with a special ladies’ lunch for our residents 💜

The afternoon was filled with great food, wonderful company and live music from one of our own talented staff 🎶 It was a lovely way to celebrate the incredible women in our community and spend time together enjoying the occasion.

A big thank you to our fantastic team for organising such a special afternoon and to our wonderful residents for making it such an enjoyable celebration 🌷

Today we are celebrating the remarkable women who make up our Four Ferns community. From our dedicated team members who provide exceptional care every day, to the wonderful residents whose stories, experiences and wisdom enrich life in our home.

International Women’s Day is a chance to recognise the strength, resilience and achievements of women everywhere. This year’s theme, “Give To Gain”, highlights the importance of supporting and uplifting one another to build stronger, more inclusive communities.

At Four Ferns, we see this spirit every day through the kindness, friendship and support shared between our residents and staff. Today we celebrate the women who inspire us with their warmth, courage and compassion. 🌸

✨ There was great concentration at Four Ferns during a lively game of Jenga! 😄

One of our residents took on the challenge, carefully pulling out each block while the tower got taller and wobblier. There were a few nervous laughs and lots of encouragement from everyone watching.👀

Games like this always bring plenty of fun and a bit of friendly competition to the day. Safe to say it kept everyone entertained!👏

📚🌿 We recently enjoyed a lovely outing to Deansgrange Library, where residents had the opportunity to browse the shelves, explore new titles and revisit some old favourites. There is something truly special about spending time in a library, surrounded by stories, knowledge and memories 📖✨

The visit offered more than just books. It was a chance to get out and about, enjoy a change of scenery and connect with the local community. Residents enjoyed chatting, sharing recommendations and soaking up the welcoming atmosphere.

Outings like this support wellbeing, stimulate conversation and encourage lifelong interests. A big thank you to the team who organised the trip and to the staff at Deansgrange Library for such a warm welcome. We are already looking forward to our next visit 😊

🍯 We rounded off Fibre February in the tastiest way at The Four Ferns!🍯

Our residents got busy in the kitchen making their very own fibre treats, baking delicious homemade flapjacks from scratch. ✨ There was lots of stirring, measuring and plenty of chat as everyone got involved.👏

The smell of baking filled the air and, best of all, the finished flapjacks went down a treat. A fun and healthy way to mark Fibre February together 🥣✨

🌿🌼 Our residents at The Four Ferns recently enjoyed a lovely plant potting activity 🌿🌼

There was great focus and creativity on display as everyone selected their plants, filled their pots and got their hands into the soil. Gardening activities like this support fine motor skills, coordination and sensory stimulation, while also providing a calming and rewarding experience.💚

It was wonderful to see residents taking pride in their finished pots and looking forward to watching their plants grow. A simple activity that brings colour, conversation and a real sense of achievement 🌱😊

Our Four Ferns Resident Choir filled the home with love and music this Valentine’s Day with a truly special rendition for everyone to enjoy 🎶💐

It was a wonderful moment as our residents came together to share their voices, bringing smiles, warmth, and plenty of Valentine’s spirit to all who listened 😊❤️

Music is such a powerful way to connect, create joy, and celebrate special occasions, and we are so proud of our amazing choir for making the day extra memorable 🌹✨

✨Our residents have already been celebrating Valentine’s Day during the week, with a fantastic party featuring fine dining, a live singing performance during dinner and a livley music session afterwards with plenty of sing alongs, dancing and great company.🎉

The celebrations are continuing today on Valentines day, with even more opportunities for residents to enjoy the occasion and spend time together.🎉
