Mindworthy

Mindworthy Our page has all the latest health, wellbeing and therapy stories from Ireland and around the world.

A lot of us don’t think about the health of our minds until life challenges us. When we feel sad, depressed, anxious or just out of sorts, it can be difficult for us to focus on anything else. When we feel overwhelmed it can be hard to figure out what's really going on. For some of us, we don’t always know where to go. We know that talking can help alleviate some of the uncomfortable feelings, unwanted thoughts and negative behaviours that are making us unhappy. Mindworthy offers you a safe and confidential space to talk. It will give you the supportive tools you need, to help you cope with whatever life throws at you.

In a talk that's by turns heartbreaking and hilarious, writer and podcaster Nora McInerny shares her hard-earned wisdom about life and death. Her candid approach to something that will, let's face it, affect us all, is as liberating as it is gut-wrenching. Most powerfully, she encourages us to shift...

Chatting all about the benefits of crafting with the Irish Examiner - It’s been a pleasure working with The Knitting & Stitching Show this year. It’s important that we mind our minds, take time out and connect with others. That’s what crafting is all about. Who’s going to the Knitting & Stitching Show this weekend?

I am delighted to partner with the Knitting and Stitching Show to promote the benefits of crafting. Crafting is a great way to practise mindfulness while also being creative. We are all living increasingly busy lives so taking time out to enjoy some crafting is a great way to be mindful. It can help reduce stress, it's a great way to connect with people and have a positive impact on our brains as it forces us to slow down and be present in the moment which is what being mindful is all about. Yesterday I had the pleasure of talking with people working in the HSE, and members of the clinical science and laboratory medicine. We spent the day looking at SelfCare, SelfCompassion and Resilience. We did reflective exercises, which helped us to look inwards at our thoughts, emotions and our behaviours. After reading through the evaluation forms, the attendees appreciated the time to talk openly, to look at their strengths and to share their feelings in a safe space. Thank you for having me ✨
