Hayoka Yoga with Amy Kokoszka

Hayoka Yoga with Amy Kokoszka Sharing Ideas on Yin and Ashtanga Yoga, Nutrition, Meditation, Addiction, Loving and Letting Go.

Hayoka is a Native American term given to me when I was a young girl. My hope is that I can help those around me to be catalyst for their own change; through my teaching of yoga, on my intimate retreats and through discussion on being a wild and free human in this day and age.

In Women & Wolves one of the teachings we explore is that of a “handmade life’. What is a handmade life, how do we know what one feels like, what it looks like? What are the somatic practices I can utilise to feel fully content in my body, and in my heart, or how do I return contentment to my life? Not striving but present and patient. MOST Importantly what may have distracted me from this handmade life?

For those that asked about the hundreds of seashells I picked the other day. They became a small, still unfinished mosaic in the entrance in my cozy little cottage I live in, preached on a hill, next to the ocean. This tiny home has been a long awaited oasis for me. A grounding space to create. And slowly it is being renovated and loved. Each section a private expression of my creative mind.

If it’s baking a pie, running that long run, being present with a creative thought and then taking small action on it, this is a handmade life. When it’s not a ,have to, so much as a “I must”then you know you are on the right track.

But what happens when you no longer feel that, when nothing springs up, no creative thought therefore no action?…. Or a numbness, a bitterness, a jealousy or a longing unfilled? First, get curious, then quiet, this provokes focus and reclamation. Need support? If this sounds like it makes sense but you want to know more about the process you are welcome to join the 6 month long workshop series women & wolves. Where we cover so many important practices for a women to truly feel “wild”, wild a misused word, but an important and essential action for all women.

We begin Dec 29 7-9 pm GMT. This first session is free so save the date.

Details in bio.

Women & Wolves is a six month long online workshop series. One Monday of the month we meet for 2 hours exploring teachings for the book “Women who Run with the Wolves” by Clarrisa Pinkola Estes and other important female authors. We examine story as medicine, deconstruct myths and clarify key teachings. We use movement (including breathwork and yoga) to gain deeper relationship with the Wild Woman Archetype. She is vital to the survival of instinct and individuation for Women.

If you feel the call to join a community of women in exploring Women and Wolves Part 1 “Learning the tongue of Earth” message me.

How would your DNA change having grown up with this Native American story of creation. Of Turtle island? As she wove the earth together with the animals and plants, in unison! I can tell you the first time hearing this story, I felt it deep in my bones. I felt hard-done by! It’s always been there, this lingering pi**ed off, not understanding why as a young girl I could not grow up to be a priest, why it was saved for men only. That young girl sitting looking at that beautiful altar, wondering, what was I not able to share? Some may have reason for this, but for me it was a simple, “this won’t due”, I had great faith in the mysteries of life. I remembered laying on my belly in the heat of the summer as a young girl looking at ants scurry around the moss thinking how magical it was. They all had jobs and places to be. I could sit there for hours. So hearing story of creation through this perspective “Skywoman Falling” made me realise that IF this was what I heard first, if this was taught to my huge little heart heard first, how different my life may be, that is, my internal world, not to mention the external.

We cannot loose these stories, and there are so many.

Bringing back old story is what we do on Women & Wolves. We remember. Just just the myth but the current story. We walk through the book Women who run with the Wolves by Clarrisa Pinkola Estes and many other amazing books to remember!

Nov 1st I will share the details of this journey and trust that some of you are curious enough, and know that you must join.

Much love. Amy

Three things I love.

Juicing and Juicing for other women.
Getting strong and showing women how to get strong.
Diving into old stories! Finding stories of creation through cultures of women.

If you are curious follow along. If you have a story to share with me I would love to hear.

If you want to juice but not sure where to start, join me on a juice retreat.

Loads of love.

Hayoka is a Native American term given to me when I was a young girl. It can be defined as a trickster and a catalyst for change. My hope is that I can help those around me to be catalyst for their own change; through my teaching of yoga, on one of my intimate retreats and through discussions on being a wild my hope is that we can all find freedom.
