Hearing loss can be temporary or permanent.
Wax build-up, fluid, or infections can usually be treated. Deterioration of the inner ear from ageing, or damage from noise exposure or certain medications is usually permanent, but early intervention along with hearing aids can make a real difference.

If you have concerns about your hearing, an assessment with an audiologist is the first step.
