Gill Opticians has an eye for spotting greatness.
In 2020 a client of ours proposed Gill Opticians should sponsor him in his quest to become a foiling world champion.

Bio:
Charlie grew up sailing out of Dún Laoghaire Harbour. He competed in his first regatta at just 12 years old.

He quickly progressed into the high-performance sailing scene, developing a strong passion for hydrofoiling boats. To date, Charlie has secured 10 National Championship titles, a European Championship title, 2 Junior European Championship titles, and a Junior World Championship title, alongside numerous other notable results.

Looking ahead to 2026, Charlie has his sights set on the Moth European Championship in June and the Moth World Championships in November in Australia. He also aims to progress into the professional tiers of the sailing world.
