Happy International Women’s Day

A woman is like a flower - when she is nurtured with kindness, respect, and support, she can truly flourish.

Every woman is unique and special in her own way, with her own strengths, dreams, and journey. Some lead, some nurture, some inspire quietly but every woman matters and every contribution is valuable.

When women feel respected and supported, they can grow, achieve, and make a beautiful difference in the world around them.

Today we celebrate all women, exactly as they are.
Wishing every woman a wonderful International Women’s Day.

Is it okay to use a private email account for childcare service communication?

In busy Early Years and School-Aged Childcare settings, communication with parents, staff, external agencies, and regulators happens constantly. In smaller services especially, Owners, Boards of Management, and managers may occasionally use a private email account when dealing with service-related matters.

While this may arise from convenience, it can also raise important questions around data protection, safeguarding, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance.
Our latest blog explores this topic through a practical governance and compliance lens.

In the article, we discuss:
• Why private email use may happen in practice in Early Years and School-Aged Childcare services
• GDPR and Data Protection obligations when handling personal and sensitive information
• Requirements under the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016
• Safeguarding responsibilities under the Children First Act 2015
• Practical governance considerations for services
• Constructive steps services can take to support secure and compliant communication systems

The blog aims to support providers in reflecting on communication practices within the wider governance and safeguarding framework.

Accident & Incident Book with Triplicate Forms

When it comes to compliance, documentation matters.

Ou Accident and Incident Book holds up to 50 reports and is designed to support best practice record-keeping in early years settings.

✔️ Each report is in triplicate
✔️ One copy for the child’s file
✔️ One copy for the parent/guardian
✔️ One copy remains in the book as your official record

This creates clear evidence that documentation was completed, filed and shared - essential for compliance and inspections.

Each form also includes space to record remedial actions, supporting your risk assessment responsibilities and demonstrating proactive follow-up.
