Monday Munch from last Monday delayed until Tuesday but only going out this Monday! 7 days later...

Mafia🕴🕴 level direspect for the rules out of me

150g of Greek Yogurt
250g of mixed berry fruit pot (S Value's finest product)
40g of Granola
2 tea spoon of mixed seeds

Low calorie - less than 400 - most cals come from Granola so use sparingly if weight loss is your goal

About 20+ grams of protein - muscle building/maintenance, satiety, hormone production 💪

Good fats from the seeds - Omega 3's - great for heart health, peeper health👀 and brain functioning 🤤

Fibre, vitamins and antioxidants from the fruit pot as well as water - nice one

Interesting🤔

Those with lower levels of physical Activity find it far harder to control their hunger and feel less satisfied and full after the munch

Those with higher levels of physical output needed more of this munch but much better regulated their eating/intake

The Takeaway is that the system that controls feelings of hunger and fullness gets out of whack in those with a low level of output

The opposite is true in those with higher levels of output

Main point - It is far harder to keep a handle on your bodyweight through diet alone

Ironically those that point out someone being over weight and snidely say "they have no self control" are somewhat right

But not from a perceived weakness or moral failing as media/society/companies that prey on you not liking yourself point out

But rather from an actual deregulation of the system that controls hunger and fullness

So if you want to drop body fat or change your body some relatively intense physical activity is most likely needed over the long term

Think lifestyle change and modification rather than crash diets and gimmicky s**z

(Me and the Squish got stranded on the couch as it was raining... my slack face is a result of not getting my Costa medicine☕😔

Happy Tuesday you Bashful Bananas🍌

I've been listening to this audio book the last while

On my second listen as my brain ain't fond of the ol retention 🤪

The author John Joseph is an ex lunatic who previously had a penchant for violence, drug binging and general chaos of the most serious order 🤬

(Yes you can be an ex lunatic)

He had a massively f**ked up childhood and was on the road to death☠

Or an early grave⚰

Somewhere along the way he got into the New York Punk scene late 70s/early 80s and met The Bad Brains a black Punk band🏴

(Rare in the Punk scene then and now maybe, I'm not too up on Punk)

(Sorry Punkle Dekko)

They introduced him to the idea of PMA

Positive Mental Attitude 🌄

The book tells the story of what went down for change and how the author has tried to live his life by this concept over the last 30+ years

Doing the whole Hare Krisna monk life for a bit and went vegan before the whole vegan 🍏thing was a thing and now lives life trying to be of service to others🤝🤲

In short the book deals with the concept of conquering the 'Enemy Mind'🗡

That whiny, self-doubting, I'll do it tomorrow voice that we all recognise

It being a battle that has to be fought daily

I'm often cynical when it comes to self-help books and the whole happy, positive meme/Insta quote culture

(Enemy mind🤔)

As they can be airy fairy or really annoyingly positive in that Californian I'm now loaded so I do Yoga all the time type of way😊

But this is different in that John Joseph is as real as it gets and blunt as f**k with his love🔨❤

Can't recommend this book highly enough

For whatever reason it has really resonated with me and it may for you too

Do yourself a favour and order a copy or Gerritt on Audible

Pros: I don't have b***s.. she might realise this and stay asleep.. bottles at the ready🤨

Cons: I don't have b***s... she might not accept this fact easily😩

Current situation: I'm under the Squish

Any detachment seems to wake her

Kettlebell Swings and Snatches

Pros: better cardio - good for life stuff and...😳

Muscles get stronger and can endure for longer - also good for life stuff and... 🤔

Burns the ol calories and increases metabolism 🔥

Increases grip strength - "handy" if you ever need to strangle a home invader or open various jars👋

Puts the hump in the rumpy pump - it's science

You can go v intense in a short amount of time so no "but I don't have the time" complaints

Cons: Minor to possibly severe injury if you don't learn to swing correctly😁

If you want to help avoid that bent forward drooped shoulder look rocked by Dublin City grannies👵 and scaldy lads🕴 since the year dot .

Then do some row type movements... great for developing and 'toning' the back and also teaches good posture...

As a bonus the biceps aka the Guns of Navarone 💪look decent when raising that glass to your face hole, 🍸blowing a whistle or in any other elbow bending scenario you can think of🤔
