With only 2cweeks more tuis may be still helpful.
Mornings can be a particularly stressful time of the day - everyone trying to get out the door for childcare, school or work. Lots of things to do and get organised to make that happen on time. Many parents find spending some time each night (possibly when little ones are in bed) getting organised for the following day can really help reduce stress in the morning.
Lay clothes out - Laying everyone's clothes (grown ups too) out the night before is a game changer, even if they have a uniform. It takes the decision out of it in the morning. Don’t forget things like socks and hair ties. It can also promote independent dressing.
Make lunches - Don’t leave lunches until the morning time. Have them all done the night before and in the fridge waiting to go. Put school bags beside the fridge and put lunches on a low shelf so everyone can pack their own bag.
Set Up a Morning Checklist: This can be particularly useful so little kiddies can visualise what’s involved in the morning routine. You can use images or words depending on the child. It can help them focus on what’s coming next. Give them a pen and let them tick things off themselves - you’ll sail through the morning.
Prepare Breakfast Options:
Decide on breakfast the night before and prepare any components you can in advance. For example, you can set out cereal and bowls, pre-make smoothies, or prep ingredients for a quick breakfast sandwich.
Check the Weather and Plan Accordingly:
Look at the weather forecast for the next day and plan outerwear and any additional items like umbrellas, hats, or sunscreen. This ensures you're prepared for whatever the weather brings.
