What do you think are the main illnesses people claim for?

If you are out of work due to illness or injury you are entitled to a maximum of 183 days of paid leave.

This is typically paid at 13 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay, in a rolling 4 year period.

Let’s talk about Flat Rate Expenses. These are allowances for certain types of employment.

Do you have them? Are you claiming them?

For example, teachers can claim for tools, clothing & registration fees. Nurses can claim for PPE equipment and uniforms.

From this year, you must actively claim these expenses as they are not automatically carried over from your last tax return.
