⚠️ appreciation post ⚠️
The first time I met Josh he was preparing for 2019. Thanks to they suggested he get in touch to sort out ‘a ni**le in his knee’. The rest is history 😁 Josh’s running has gone from strength to strength from 2019 to 2023. He has achieved so much during this period with PB after PB, continually representing Ireland in the orienteering world and getting very comfortable up on the podium with gold, silver and bronze 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 As impressive as all of his achievements are, what I most admire is his commitment to the rehab process when he gets injured. After such a successful year in 2022, the year ended with disappointment when injury struck end of December. After a nasty tendinitis flare up, we had to ease completely back and stop running. This isn’t what a 100 mile a week man wants to hear! So he did 300+ miles on the bike per week 😂 We assessed, treated and prescribed the appropriate rehab exercises. Most importantly, we drew up a plan. We assessed, re-assessed and stuck with the plan. 01/04/23 Josh flew to Italy for the MOC Sprint camp. As Josh recently said ‘ 12 weeks ago I was clocking 0km a week due to my injury so it’s a real bonus to have gotten some positive feedback both technically and physically in the trainings and races, especially in the KO finals where I had the 5th fastest time overall, along with clocking 190.6 km over the 9 days and hitting >230 controls’. Seriously impressive stuff 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Keep up the good honest work Josh. You deserve nothing short of greatness. Looking forward to catching up on the treatment table this week 😁 💉👀💉😁
