‼️ COVID VACCINATIONS UPDATE ‼️

Following on from yesterday’s surprise announcement. We are now able to vaccinate 18-34yr olds as-well as those 50yrs and over from Monday onwards. This however doesn’t mean we have vaccines available from this Monday.

The Janssen (Johnson&Johnson) single dose vaccine will be the vaccine offered with limited vaccines due to arrive from next Wednesday onwards in some of our branches.

Initially, only 3 of our branches had registered to provide the COVID vaccination service as we were limited to over 50’s only and the anticipated uptake was not expected to be high. Since then, and with yesterday’s news, the remaining McCartan’s Branches have applied to the HSE to provide the service. This will take a little bit of time. We will of course keep you updated.

Interest, as you can imagine, has been huge and our phone lines have been inundated so we would appreciate those interested to register their interest by sending an e-mail to info@mccartans.ie with Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and preferred branch or the area you live in. Doing so will hopefully free up our telephone lines allowing us to carry on with the day to day running of our pharmacies.

It will take a bit of time to organise but we are delighted to be able to join in and help vaccinate as many people as we can. Together, we can do our bit to try and restore some sort of normality!

Thank You for your patience and we will do our best to be as organised and efficient as possible.
