Acupuncture and dry needling seem to many patients to be the same therapy, however they are fundamentally different both for patient safety and clinical effectiveness. I found an article from an American Acupuncturist that decided to get "Dry Needling" certification to see the difference in person. The important safety aspects become very clear very quickly.
