🔸️Many of us, especially those living with, or recovering from Eating Distress or Emotional Distress, have an even more complex relationship with rest.
🔸️We tell ourselves we have so much to do, so many tasks to finish, so many people to please, but the busyness isn’t really the problem.
🔸️The problem is that being busy keeps us from feeling.
🔸️When we rest, our parasympathetic nervous system, the body’s natural “rest and digest” mode takes charge. This lowers our heart rate, stabilises blood pressure, and reduces the stress hormone cortisol.
🔸️In turn, this helps us think more clearly, manage emotions more effectively, and even strengthen our immune system.
