Saint John of God Foundation We fundraise on behalf of Saint John of God Community services (SJOG).

SJOG Community Services provide support for people living with intellectual disabilities, and child and adolescent mental health challenges. We support service providers in the areas of intellectual disabilities, children and adolescent mental health and people living with dementia.

At St John of God University Hospital, the way we care is shaped by the values of hospitality, compassion and respect, values rooted in the legacy of our founder, Saint John of God.

Centuries ago, he extended care to those most in need with warmth, dignity and humanity. Today, we continue that tradition by creating a place where people feel safe, listened to, and supported in their recovery.

Hospitality means offering a genuine welcome.
Compassion means being present and kind.
Respect means honouring each person’s journey.

As we mark St John of God Week, we reflect on how these values continue to guide our work, not just in theory, but in practice, every day.

Last week our women attended a special day focused on Women’s Wellbeing.

Saint John of God, Liffey Services hosted the inclusive Health & Wellness Information Day focused on menopause and breast health, created especially for women with intellectual disabilities, their support staff and families.

They shared stories, asked questions and created a safe space where every woman felt heard, informed and supported.

Well done and a big thanks to Lisa Condron from the Callan Institute, Donna Hughes from St John of God Liffey Services, and Shirley Conlon from our service, Dublin South East, for organising the event.
