Disability Federation of Ireland (DFI) is the national support organisation for voluntary disability organisations in Ireland who provide services to people with disabilities and disabling conditions. There are 127 organisations within membership or as associates in DFI. We work to ensure that Irish society is fully inclusive of people with disabilities and disabling conditions so that they can exercise fully their civil, social and human rights. DFI provides:

Yesterday, DFI’s Emer Begley and Laura O’Callaghan and our colleagues at the Irish Wheelchair Association addressed the Joint Committee on Infrastructure where they discussed the need to move beyond "add-on" accessibility including:

🔸Universal Design by default

🔸Application of the UN CRPD locally with full-time Access Officers, consistent structures and meaningful participation for disabled people.
