Every three months, our Friends book club meets for low-stakes, feel-good discussion of a book with cross-cultural connections. Thoughtful literary fiction, vibrant fantasy, fascinating micro-histories, work in translation - we've read them all!

This new year, we're reading The Interpreter's Daughter by Teresa Lim. Part history, part memoir, it traces the fortunes of one family across the decades, from 19th century south China to 1940s Singapore.

Beautiful _ Try Visit👍😘

One of our regular library users Ann McEwan recreated Clondalkin Library in copper at a copper craft class at NCL-North Clondalkin Library. Ann says she chose Clondalkin Library as her image because of its symmetry and because libraries are like her second home.

She has kindly agreed to loan it to us for the month of July and we must say the pictures don’t do it justice so make sure you drop in to see it!

Pope Francis used his last public address to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Even as he was hospitalised, he maintained his commitment to check in on a daily basis with priests and parishioners at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City.
