It’s National Arthritis Week. 💜

This week aims to raise awareness and help support those living with this condition and highlight the impact it has on their lives.

It also aims to educate people on early diagnosis, access to treatment and improved quality of life for those living with it.

One of the ways to help manage arthritis is to exercise & stretch regularly. This helps to reduce stiffness & pain as well as strengthen bones and the muscles around joints.

April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in Ireland with approx. 2,500 people diagnosed annually. Most people diagnosed with it are over the age of 60 but you can get bowel cancer at any age.

BowelScreen is Ireland’s free national bowel screening programme for people aged 58 to 70, designed to detect the early stages of bowel cancer. If bowel cancer is found early, it’s easier to treat and there’s a better chance of recovery.

Speak with your GP if you’re concerned or experiencing symptoms of bowel cancer, even if you are outside the age range for bowel screening or have had a recent normal screening result.
